Teacher Training – Bachelor In Pedagogy

Licentiate Degree in Pedagogy – 3 Years

The program is carried out in cooperation with One World University in Mozambique, leading to what corresponds to a Bachelor of Arts degree at a western university.  It is a special education and alternative way of becoming a teacher.

What Tools do Children of the Future Need?

  • Children need to learn the organization of the society they live in and to understand the material, economic and social development trends of that society
  • They need the opportunity to learn to understand their own times (the world of today) and not be charged too much with the burdens of the past
  • Children need knowledge, but they also need space for personality development and character formation
  • They need to train social behavior and learn to take the welfare of others into consideration
  • Children need to understand that common responsibility for our common destiny is the most important and most necessary foundation of brotherhood and future at all.

So the teacher must also learn and understand these elements to have a chance of being a teacher of substance.  The teacher needs knowledge of the child’s world including their parents and who they are, where they work, what they dream about.  A substantial teacher training program must fulfill the above stated requests by having a period that enables them.  This is the starting point of our teacher training program.  The justification of any education must include elements that are later used when practicing the job – if not, the student is cheated!

During the training you will acquaint yourself with the world by travelling in it and investigating its conditions, using an old bus as your pedagogical machine.  Later, you will move to a city, get employment as an unskilled worker, and study the national reality, learning from your workmates and neighbours, who are also the parents of the children whom you will teach. You will work as a substitute teacher, putting the pedagogical theories you have learned to the test and trying out and investigating how children learn and what they should learn – content and methods – using all your experiences from the first two years of the program.
